Don’t groan when you hear the word fitness! It can be fun; seriously! Take time to explore activities that you actually enjoy doing and use them to your advantage. Do you love to jump rope, take walks, ride a bike, to be outdoors? If so, set aside an hour to go enjoy these things each day; chances are you will feel happier if you do. Don’t like activity at all? If you are sitting on the couch watch TV or playing games skip the snack and move or arms and legs around in circular and up and down motions congratulations, you are exercising! Just consider some tips to get up and going!
It is best not to work out when your are ill, unless you only have a slight cold. Reserving your body’s energy when you are ill, will help the healing process, and get you back to full strength quicker.
Before starting your workout, always remember to warm up, as this will prepare your muscles for physical activity. Spend five minutes performing a low intensity version of your main workout, and incorporate stretching exercises. This will increase your body temperature, and increase blood flow to your muscles, making them much more flexible.
Your fitness routine will be much more enjoyable if you have someone to share it with. Find a friend or family member who has the same fitness goals as you and work together. You will be able to encourage each other and offer a strong support system when the going gets tough.

Be sure to pause before and after every set of movements and stretch the relevant muscles for at least 20 seconds. Adding a few easy stretches to your workout can increase its effectiveness.
To build strength, quickly lift light weights. Working quickly will allow your muscles to use as much energy as they would if you were lifting heavier weights at a slower rate. For example, on bench press, lift forty to sixty percent of your max weight and do eight sets of three repetitions, doing this as quickly as you can.
If you are just starting out on the road to healthy living, avoid overdoing your exercising. Do not try to work out too vigorously. If you do, it will reduce your energy and may cause injury. Any exercise is an improvement to not exercising. So if you can only work out for 10 minutes, it is better than 10 minutes of not exercising.
Some people love getting fit; others hate it but there are steps that you can take to make exercise enjoyable and to find an activity that works for you.
